3 QUESTIONS FOR SHIRO TSUJI
How does your method work?
Above all it's a kind of popularized teaching method which makes reading music pleasant and above all accessible. I wanted to show that anyone can learn music because it is something that comes naturally - it's just as good for people who are starting to learn music theory as it is for musicians who have problems reading their scores!
What advice would you give to people who want to start?
First of all, read the notes while reciting your scales to be able to, for example, sing a 'mi' after having heard a 'do'. You'll subconsciously develop an instinctive feeling for scales. Next, develop your ear for music to be able to name a note that you hear as well as you can sing a note that you read. It's fundamental and easy to acquire with a little practice. Finally, you have to develop your sense of rhythm, which will come naturally to anyone and is essential in music...
What is the secret to learning music?
As with anything you are serious about learning, perseverance and regular practise!
